As with all Fodor’s travel guides, this one is no exception for a great all around book. It helped us decide which of the Caribbean islands to visit and we were not disappointed.
I recommend this book for your travel guide to the islands.

I bought this because it seemed to be the most recent and indepth Caribbean guide. As with all guides that cover a vast amount of territory, you’ll find that it’s not as indepth as you’d like. For example, the book provided me with enough information on Puerto Rico if I had a day or two in San Juan, but I’d have to refer to another guide if I had planned on staying longer. But that’s to be expected.
If you’re looking at going on a Caribbean cruise or even trying to figure out which island you want to spend time on, I’d recommend this book. It’s pretty decent and it’s good for browsing so I can daydream of going to the lesser-known islands (helpful on bad weather days.)
